Since its founding in 1979, Viñedos Torreón de Paredes, located in Rengo, 114 kilometers south of Santiago, has developed a highly regarded range of wines, many of which are award winning. Taking care of the high quality of their wines is a passion that Torreón de Paredes preserves thanks to the family tradition. The late Don Amado Paredes is the spiritual mentor and founder of this successful winery, while his sons Alvaro and Javier continue to preserve and develop his legacy.
One of the finest wines of Chile – Don Amado is highly awarded with several gold medals and is well worth trying.
This is a very intense wine with a deep black colour with shades of purple. The nose is very complex with notes of dry fruits (hazelnuts, nuts), black fruits (blackcurrants, plums, and ripe pomegranates), spices (liquorice, nutmeg) with fine coco and vanilla notes from the 16 months spent ageing in new French oak barrels. On the palate it is still a young wine with robust tannins and notes of black fruits and truffles mixed with spices, tobacco and dark chocolate that provide an elegant and pleasant finish. This wine has a high potential for ageing gracefully in the bottle.
